Our offering comprises services, software and infrastructure within Information and Communications Technology for telecom operators and other industries. Today more than 40 percent of the world’s mobile traffic and 50% of all smartphone traffic goes through Ericsson networks and we support customers’ networks servicing more than 2,5 billion subscribers.

We operate in 180 countries and employ more than 100,000 people. Founded in 1876, Ericsson is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden and has been in Africa since the 1890s. We invest heavily in research and development and are leaders in innovation.

Over the last 136 year of continuous innovation Ericsson has been in the forefront of driving technology evolution. From the first steps going from telegraph to telephony all the way to the roll-out of mobile broadband. Ericsson has for a long time been the birthplace of new technologies like GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, HSPA, LTE.

Ericsson designed Erlang in 1986 and open sourced it in 1998. Today it is used to connect millions of people on social network sites. We created Bluetooth in 1994. Today more than 3 billion devices worldwide use it. Three years ago we launched the first commercial LTE network and today we are the market leaders having built more than 45 LTE networks in 23 countries on 5 continents which cover over 60% of the population which has LTE.
